AMSTERDAM — MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems returns to IBC this year with a new ST 2110 product line designed to meet an expected surge in demand as Europe nears adoption of the standard.
The MDoG Series features SMPTE ST 2110 network interface and low-latency JPEG-XS codec options, which MultiDyne says are designed to help customers build stronger bridges between the SDI and IP worlds.
Formally introduced at the 2024 NAB Show, the MDoG series helps broadcasters and content creators efficiently manage uncompressed and compressed signals as they move between legacy systems and IP networks, with full redundancy to optimize performance. Available as openGear modules, they represent MultiDyne’s first fully IP gateway products for uncompressed ST 2110 networks. “The modules provide a reliable SDI-to-IP network interface with exceptionally wide bandwidth, helping broadcast and media companies optimize throughput for uncompressed 4K and HD video transport,” New York-based MultiDyne says.
Sebastian Mucha, EVP of R&D and European Operations at MultiDyne, says the adoption of the ST 2110 standard has been “progressing steadily,” with larger markets like the UK, Germany and France as early adopters setting the stage for what’s to come.
He cites remote production and interoperable multi-vendor environments as two key business opportunities for ST 2110 and JPEG-XS emerging in Europe as IBC approaches.
MultiDyne will also introduce at IBC two new models for its second-generation NanoBrix line of throwdown converters, both available with LC or ST connectors.
IBC takes place from Friday through Monday (9/9-9/16) at the RAI Amsterdam. MultiDyne exhibits at Stand 11.C12.
