Until now, noted radio broadcaster Clay Holladay has been the 50% equity holder of New South Radio, the licensee of four FMs, two FM translators and an AM in Mississippi.
With the FCC’s approval, that equity interest will be reduced to 20%, with three other Holladay family members picking up shares in the company operating under the Digio Strategies name in three markets.
The 30% equity interest in New South Radio Clay Holladay is giving up is to be distributed as follows:
- Bryan Holladay: 20%
- Joycelyn Greer Holladay: 10%
- Clayton B. Holladay: 20%
What about the other 50% ownership in New South Radio? Bob Holladay holds 20% equity interest, while 10% equity interest is assigned to trusts for Harrison, Barbara and Bob Holladay, respectively.
The shift in ownership impacts the following stations:
- WJKK-FM “MIX 98.7” in Vicksburg, which serves Jackson
- WHJT-FM “93.5 The Legend” in Kearney Park, also serving Jackson
- Class D daytime-only WIIN-AM in Ridgeland and W271DF in Jackson, branded as “102.1 The Box”
- WYOY-FM “Y101” in Gluckstadt, serving Jackson
- WUSJ-FM “US96,” a 100kw facility in Madison serving Jackson
- WHJT-HD2 and W225BK “Blues 93.1” in Cedar Hills, Miss.
While Joycelyn and Clayton do not hold attributable ownership in any other licensees, Bryan Holladay is the sole member of Meridian Media Group, which is the owner of WALT-FM in Meridian, WKZB-FM in Newton and WUCL-FM in DeKalb, Miss. It’s also awaiting FCC approval for its purchase of WEXR-FM in Stonewall, Miss.
Handling the FCC filing for the Holladay is David Burns of Lerman Senter PLLC.
