Sirius XM Satellite Radio on Tuesday posted a strong Q2 performance — one driven, in part, by increased ad revenue at its recently acquired Pandora audio streaming platform.
Now, it appears the maker of the near-ubiquitous Alexa smart speaker — eyed as a key way for broadcast radio to “return” to the home — wants in on the action.
Thus, not only Spotify but broadcast radio and its digital audio and podcasting partners should be mindful that a big potential competitor quietly lurks.
