In a deal that saw Greg Guy at Patrick Communications serve as the exclusive broker, HC2 Station Group in May 2019 became the owner of WJFB-44 in Nashville.

HC2 paid $5,750,000 to acquire the station in DMA No. 27 from Tri-State Christian Television (TCT), via Radiant Life Ministries Inc.

As such, it wanted to make sure it got mandatory coverage across all TV service platforms in the Music City. Now, it’s pulled back on that fight.

On October 7, HC2 via its attorneys filed a Complaint for Denial of Mandatory Coverage against DirecTV LLC, seeking carriage of WJFB.

But, HC2 then determined that its complaint was not timely filed.

This led to a Nov. 12 request for dismissal filed on behalf of HC2. On Monday (11/18), Senior Deputy Chief of the Policy Division of the Media Bureau, Steven Broeckaert, did just that.

WJFB on Sept. 23 began offering five digital multicast networks offered by Weigel Broadcasting. On the DT1 signal is MeTV. Taking DT2-DT6 are Heroes & Icons, Start TV, Decades, and Movies!

These channels shifted from LPTV station WKUW-LD 40 in Nashville, also owned by HC2.
