A veteran broadcast TV sales leader who has served as VP/GM of an ABC affiliate serving the Paducah, Ky.-Cape Girardeau, Mo. market since 2019 has been selected to serve in a similar role for The E.W. Scripps Co.-owned ABC affiliate in Indianapolis.

He takes on his new role June 10.

It marks the biggest career position yet for Charlie Grisham.

For the past five years, Grisham has led WSIL-3, the Carterville, Ill., property once owned by Quincy Media Inc., and sold by Gray Television to Allen Media Broadcasting in August 2021.

Now, Grisham is heading to WRTV-6 in Indianapolis, building on prior roles as Director of Sales for KSDK-5 in St. Louis. Before that, he was General Sales Manager and VP of Local Content Development for KUSI-51 in San Diego. He’s also been VP of Sales for Bitcentral.

“Charlie is a seasoned local media executive who understands the changing media landscape and has a successful track record leading station operations in the Midwest,” said Kathleen Choal, the Scripps Regional VP/GM who Grisham will report to. “He is well positioned to take WRTV to new heights as the general manager.”

Grisham has served on the board of the Illinois Broadcasters Association and is co-founder of Give SI, an initiative aimed at fostering community engagement and philanthropy for local nonprofit organizations. The initiative has raised nearly $1 million since 2020.

In his free time, Grisham runs half marathons, plays golf, and is active in the classical music community.
