He’s gained outsized attention for his social media efforts and local promotional campaign designed to raise awareness and advertiser interest in the ABC affiliate in Indianapolis he oversees. Now, Charlie Grisham is moving to a sibling property in Nebraska to take on similar duties as GM and Director of Sales.

The E.W. Scripps Co. is transferring Grisham to KMTV-TV in Omaha-Council Bluffs, shifting from his role at WRTV-TV in Indianapolis.

The shift is tied to WRTV’s pending divestment to Circle City Media, the DuJuan McCoy-owned licensee that owns crosstown WISH-TV and WNDY-TV.

And, the move brings Grisham back home. He first lived in Nebraska as a child, returned to Omaha for college and later served as a U.S. Air Force officer at Offutt Air Force Base, in Nebraska.

Early in his career, he worked in Omaha-area radio and regional cable news while earning a degree in atmospheric sciences from Creighton University and completing Air Force ROTC at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He later earned an MBA while serving on active duty.

“Charlie’s deep roots in Omaha and Nebraska give him a unique understanding of the people and the community KMTV serves,” said Scripps Regional VP/GM Kathleen Choal, who Grisham reports to. “His leadership experience at WRTV and across other successful local media stations will help our Omaha team continue creating trusted, impactful journalism that reflects the values of the region.”

Grisham joined WRTV in 2024 after serving as VP/GM of WSIL-TV in the Cape Giradeau, Mo.-Paducah, Ky. DMA. He’s also served as Director of Sales for KSDK-TV in St. Louis and GSM for KUSI-TV in San Diego. He’s also served as VP of Sales for media software firm Bitcentral.
