He has served as General Manager of Gray Television’s NBC affiliated WSAZ-TV and The CW Network-affiliated sibling WQCW-TV in Charleston-Huntington, W. Va., since December 2021.
On June 26, he’ll be leading the company’s CBS and The CW Network affiliates serving Cleveland.
Taking the General Manager role for WUAB-43 and WOIO-19 in Cleveland is David Hughes.
He succeeds Matt Moran, who recently became a Senior Managing Vice President at Gray.
The promotion is the latest step up the ladder for Hughes within Gray.
Before leading WSAZ & WQCW, Hughes led Gray’s WVIR-TV, the NBC affiliate in Charlottesville, Va., as General Manager. Before holding that role, Hughes served as News Director at Gray-owned WDBJ-TV in Roanoke.
Hughes has also held various roles in the news departments at WFLA-8 in Tampa, WRAL-5 in Raleigh, and at WMAZ-TV in Macon, Ga.
