Gray Media has promoted from within to fill the role of Chief Technology Officer. He succeeds David Burke, who on July 31 formally retired and will continue advising the broadcast TV station owner through the end of 2025.

Taking the CTO role after serving as Chief Information Officer for both Gray and Raycom Media is Bob Kroeger.

“We are thrilled to elevate Bob Kroeger to Chief Technology Officer of Gray Media,” said Gray President and Co-CEO Pat LaPlatney, who like Kroeger stayed with the company following Raycom’s merger with Gray. “He has a wealth of experience, and is highly respected by our employees, and across the industry. Bob has big shoes to fill with the departure of David Burke, but we are thrilled to have someone of his caliber step up to our CTO role.”

Kroeger is an accomplished broadcast CIO and technology executive with over 32 years of leadership in television broadcast engineering and information technology. He’s particularly focused his efforts on WSMV-4 in Nashville, WOIO-19 and WUAB-TV in Cleveland, and WXIX-19 in Cincinnati.
