It’s been over a year since Gray Television Group filed a stock deal with the FCC to acquire stations in three markets from Yellowstone Licenseco. Now it’s getting some extra signals in one of the markets.
But it will have to build them.
The Gray anchor station in Casper WY is NBC KCWY. It came along with stations in Cheyenne WY-Scottsbluff NE and Laredo TX in a $23M deal filed by the FCC 11/6/13.
The new acquisition will have a much smaller impact – it involves construction permits for three low power outlets.
Coming in the deal are K16JI-D CP, K18JQ-D CP and K41MD-D CP, all licensed to Casper.
The seller is Frank Digital Broadcasting LLC, headed by President David Frank.
SVP Kevin P. Latek signed off on the deal for Gray.
The price is $30,000. Gray has advanced $3,000 to the seller already, and the remainder will be paid at closing.
FDB will assist Gray in the pursuit of CPs to modify the facilities prior to closing.
There will be no problem fitting the stations under the local ownership cap – low power outlets are not attributable.
