KAISERSLAUTERN, GERMANY — Who’s minding the website for one of Bavaria’s most listened-to audio brands? Look no further than Artificial Intelligence, thanks to a collaboration between the radio station owner and a Munich-based tech start-up.

Privately owned Radio Gong 96.3, which for more than 20 years has offered Hot Adult Contemporary programming to Bayern’s biggest city, says it is the first in Germany to launch a radio website with a fully AI-optimized user experience (UX).

With a new design, a revised structure and an improved user experience, the website offers user-centered interaction.

Johannes Ott, Managing Director of Gong 96.3, comments, “We produce a lot of high-quality content and offer our listeners a great service and attractive promotions. It is therefore important that you can find all of these offers quickly and easily”

Ott adds that his group worked with branchly GmbH to implement an AI-based, interactive search function on a radio website for the first time.

The Radio Gong website uses dynamic user navigation, semantic direct search and generative AI chat. “This completely data-based solution enables personalized dialogues and provides AI-generated answers to users’ individual questions,” the station says. “The site also sets new standards in terms of accessibility, for example by enabling seamless translation of content into all languages.”

Notes Ott, “Thanks to generative AI, simple, inflexible chatbots are a thing of the past. Thanks to the new technology, our users finally receive meaningful and helpful answers to their questions. This makes finding content and navigating our site much easier. With the introduction of the AI-optimized website, Gong 96.3 not only creates a contemporary digital experience, but also shows how AI can already be used profitably for users today.”
