Yet another two newspaper town is about to become a one newspaper town. Gannett has put the Tucson Citizen on the auction block. If no buyer for the afternoon daily has completed a deal by March 21, Gannett said the newspaper will be shut down. Gannett currently produces the Citizen in a JOA with Lee Enterprises, owner of the larger Arizona Morning Star, Tucson’s morning newspaper.
