After nearly a quarter century, Jim Roberts has decided to part ways with family — Mid-West Family Broadcasting, to be precise.

Roberts, who has served as GM of the company’s four-station South Bend, Ind., cluster, has accepted a key sales role at Futuri Media.

Effective immediately, Roberts will now serve as Futuri’s National Account Manager.

Since 1996, Roberts has held positions in programming and sales for the Mid-West stations in the Indiana market, comprised of WNSN-FM, WZOC-FM, WQLQ-FM and WSBT-AM and its FM translator on 96.1 MHz. He rose to the GM role in 2011.

“I think Futuri is the most exciting company in the digital audio space,” Roberts said, calling founder Daniel Anstandig a “very impressive leader with an infectious energy and passion.”

The Mid-West stations in South Bend are longtime Futuri Media clients.

Under Roberts’ leadership, the Mid-West stations in South Bend have been nominated for three Marconi awards and two Crystal Radio awards.

He is a 2016 graduate of the NAB’s Broadcast Leadership Training program and in 2013 was named as one of the Top 50 GMs in the Country by Radio INK.
