DALLAS — A former member of the air staff at a 100kw Country FM licensed to Jacksboro, Tex., and serving Tarrant County, has been sentenced to serve six years in prison after it was found he violated the terms of his probation.
The announcement from the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office means Justin Frazell, who worked at KFWR “95.9 The Ranch,” was booked this week into jail.
The reason? Frazell was required to undergo treatment as a sex offender. However, Frazell did not complete that treatment and was subsequently discharged from the program.
Frazell in 2022 pleaded guilty to the sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl at his Mansfield home. The incident occurred on New Year’s Eve in 2020; he was arrested in March 2021. Frazell was eventually sentenced to 7 years of deferred adjudication, not use any firearms, and refrain from the consumption of drugs or alcohol. He was also required to register as a sex offender. The victim and her family agreed to the plea.
At the time of the Frazell’s arrest in 2021, “The Ranch” offered a public comment on its Facebook page. “While the matter is entirely unrelated to his work here at 95.9 The Ranch and does not involve any of our other colleagues, we nevertheless concluded that given the seriousness of the matter it was appropriate to suspend Justin immediately,” KFWR posted to the social media platform. “We trust that our legal system will provide due process and produce a just result for all involved. In the meantime, we ask that they be given space and privacy during this difficult time.”
