As remote production continues to be implemented for large-scale, national events, more remote-production-specific technologies are being researched and developed. As of today, live production technology and services provider Mobile TV Group (MTVG) is now offering to clients its newest mobile unit.

It is MTVG’s first purpose-built remote production unit.

Introducing the 53-RP, in action throughout this fall, covering college football for FOX Sports on a weekly basis across the country.

“While it’s built to hold minimal on-site personnel, it’s among the first capture-only systems connecting to the cloud with eight or more 1080p HDR cameras, as well as four super slo-mo cameras, and other best-in-class technologies,” MTVG says.

“This mobile unit represents another innovative remote production workflow being implemented for some of the biggest sporting events,” said Nick Garvin, COO at MTVG. “This ‘camera-only’ mobile unit is equipped with best-in-class technology, allowing for world-class image and audio quality to be produced at a remote location and distributed to fans all across the world.”

FOX Sports EVP Mike Davies commented, “The 53-RP has been a critical component of our season thus far. It has given us the ability to give our viewers indistinguishable quality from traditionally produced shows.”
