Four TV Translators Face Fine For Late License Renewal

Whether it is a full-powered UHF or a television translator station with a micro-size signal contour, adhering to FCC deadlines is a must. Just ask Guymon TV Translator Inc.

The Oklahoma licensee faces a fine for not filing its license renewal applications with the Commission in a timely manner.

Guymon TV Translator is the licensee of TV translator stations K30FY-D, K28GI-D, K32GDD, and K26JO-D, all licensed to Guymon, Okla.

The application for renewal of the stations’ licenses should have been filed by February 1, 2022, the first day of the fourth full calendar month prior to the stations’ license expiration date of June 1, 2022.

Guymon TV Translator Inc. did not file the application until March 7, 2022. Why? The licensee noted in an attachment to its application that the late filing was “inadvertently overlooked.”

That’s an unacceptable excuse, Video Division Chief Barbara Kreisman ruled, and is imposing a $1,500 per-translator fine on Guymon TV Translator. As such, it now has to pay $6,000 to the FCC or request a reduction or cancellation of the forfeiture.

Guymon TV is associated with Arnold Cruze.
