The NBA’s Charlotte Hornets will benefit from added availability of five of its upcoming games, thanks to an agreement that will see a simulcast of FanDuel Sports Southeast games on stations owned by Gray Media and Capitol Broadcasting across the team’s territory.
The Palmetto Sports & Entertainment Network and other Gray-owned affiliates will air the games, while Capitol Broadcasting Company will air the five games in the Raleigh-Durham market.
While it does not bring exclusive free-to-air TV coverage for the Hornets, the agreement does mark the first time the NBA team’s live play-by-play has aired on anything but MVPD-channel regional sports networks since the 2007-2008 season.
In Charlotte, as previously announced, the games will be shared by WSOC-9 and sibling WAXN-64:
Jan. 27: Los Angeles Lakers, 7 pm
Jan. 31: Los Angeles Clippers, 7 pm
Feb. 5: Milwaukee Bucks, 7 pm
Feb. 27: at Dallas Mavericks, 8:30 pm
March 3: Golden State Warriors, 7 pm
“We’re excited to partner with Gray Media’s Palmetto Sports & Entertainment Network to make our FanDuel Sports Southeast broadcasts available to a wider audience across the Carolinas,” said Hornets President of Business Operations Shelly Cayette-Weston. “As an organization, we remain committed to growing our fanbase, extending the reach of our TV audience and making our broadcasts more accessible to all.”
