Finally, a Good Week on the Street

StoxThe week of July 27-31 was good for the vast majority of the broadcast stocks we follow. There were a pair of notable exceptions, but in general it was a great week, especially for a radio company with an FM chip deal in its pocket.

That company, of course, would be Emmis, which picked up 30 cents per share on the week for a scintillating 28.18% gain in value.

The gain per share at Saga was much greater, but its presence on a different stock price stratum dampened the nevertheless impressive result – a $3.15 increase per share for an 8.43% gain.

The best any company could do on the television side was Sinclair, which rose 3.24%. But the good news there was that only one company lost value, Tribune, which was down less than a third of a percent.

Unfortunately, two radio companies hit a tough row to hoe – iHeart and Radio one had losses of 9.77% and 8.61% respectively.
