FCC Gives Green Light To Ex-Miami Mayor’s LPTV Buy

He’s a former Mayor of the City of Miami who became known across the Cuban-American community as the News Director for Spanish Broadcasting System, as a daily host and commentator on WWFE-AM “La Poderosa,” and as a host of a daily news and public affairs program on the TeleMiami channel found on local Comcast systems.

Now, he’s one step closer to becoming the owner of a low-power TV station serving one of the fastest-growing areas of the U.S.

The FCC on Monday (7/31) granted the transfer applications submitted on June 13 requesting approval of the sale of WSCF-LD, which has a PSIP of Channel 30 and uses digital channel 31, in Melbourne, Fla., to Tomás Regalado and his Vox Latino TV Corp.

It’s a stock purchase agreement that sees Vox Latino TV acquire the LPTV property from Request Television Inc. A $350,000 purchase price was agreed upon between Regalado and Request, associated with James Chladek, CEO of New York City-based All Broadcast Access Inc.

WSCF covers a portion of the vast Orlando DMA including Cocoa Beach.
