FAST Channel Viewing Powers MediaCo’s Digital Expansion

As it integrates Estrella Media’s streaming assets into its broader portfolio, MediaCo is reporting sharp growth across its owned-and-operated Free Ad-Supported Television channels and monetized premium Connected TV ad inventory. This comes as the company plans a further expansion of its streaming video offerings.

The New York-based broadcaster said monthly digital unique users increased 19% year-over-year, driven by gains in both video and audio streaming.

Viewing time on MediaCo’s FAST channels now exceeds 310 million minutes per month, with a 290% year-over-year increase in CTV ad inventory over the first five months of 2025. EstrellaTV and Estrella News ranked as the leading mixed-IP distributed FAST channels in the Latino category, according to Amagi/Ampere FAST Channel Analytics for the fourth quarter of 2024.

The company’s senior leadership pointed to the streaming expansion as a key driver of MediaCo’s growing advertiser appeal. “Estrella MediaCo has built one of the most scalable Hispanic CTV platforms in the US. With record-high engagement and unprecedented growth in premium ad inventory, we’re the clear choice for marketers who want to grow their brand and their business,” said MediaCo SVP of Video Sales Brian Fisher.

“This extraordinary growth in CTV video is driven by a combination of our powerful EstrellaTV and Estrella News brands and our expansion of a broad range of genres. The result is a powerful solution for advertisers at scale,” added MediaCo Chief Operating Officer René Santaella.

The company’s audio streaming business also posted gains. MediaCo now ranks 11th nationally, supported by its flagship radio stations Hot 97 and WBLS in New York, and Que Buena in Los Angeles.

On YouTube, MediaCo’s Estrella Media network reported a 35% increase in video views and a 7.4% gain in watch time year-over-year, adding one million new subscribers. The program Don Cheto Al Aire saw a 300% surge in views and a 200% rise in impressions during April and May, while Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento expanded its digital reach by 42%.

Hot 97’s YouTube channel reported substantial growth, with a 652% increase in watchstream hours and an 11% gain in subscribers so far this year. The platform’s expansion contributed to the launch of a new Hot 97 FAST channel, announced at this year’s IAB NewFronts.

On social media, EstrellaTV’s Instagram reach grew 19.1%, with the majority of that growth driven by non-followers, suggesting increased organic discovery. Noticias EstrellaTV saw its Instagram reach climb 73.6%, with profile visits up nearly 35%. On Facebook, Noticias EstrellaTV reported a 41% year-over-year increase, while Hot 97’s Facebook reach expanded from 11.6 million to 82 million in 2025.

“As a next-generation media company, we’re laser-focused on building audiences where the culture is shifting. These results prove that our strategy is working, and we’re just getting started,” said MediaCo CEO and President Albert Rodriguez.
