Ex-Gray Regional Leader To Lead Nexstar/Baton Rouge

In the Baton Rouge market, the full-power FOX affiliate and low-power TV stations airing The CW Network and unaffiliated programming are owned by Nexstar Media Group. The company also operates the NBC affiliate via a shared services agreement with White Knight Broadcasting.

The four over-the-air facilities now have a new leader, and it is an individual who was most recently SVP/Local Media for Gray Television.

Serving as VP/GM of the station group comprised of WGMB-44, WBRL-CD 21, KZUP-CD-19 and White Knight’s WVLA-33 in Louisiana’s second-largest market is Tim Ingram.

The stations compete against the Manship family’s WBRZ-2 and Gray Television’s WAFB-9 in Baton Rouge, the 95th-ranked market by Nielsen.

Ingram reports to Mike Vaughn, SVP/Regional Manager for Nexstar’s broadcasting division.

By taking the job, he returns to Bayou Country, as he served as VP/GM of WVUE-8 in New Orleans from 2015-2020. After exiting that post, Ingram took on a role at Gray where he led the broadcast and digital operations of business units in 16 markets across several states, including Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, and Illinois.

Ingram’s resume includes a role as VP/GM for television stations in Missouri and Arkansas under Raycom Media.

“Bringing Tim to Baton Rouge and an area that he knows and understands extremely well is exciting,” Vaughn said. “He’s established a lengthy track record of success, has great experience, and will be able to immediately connect with viewers and advertisers. Tim is a leader and an innovator, and the perfect choice to guide our broadcast and digital operations in Baton Rouge. I am very much looking forward to working with him.”

Ingram said, “I am grateful to Nexstar for giving me the opportunity in an area that I know well and love. The company’s local operations in Baton Rouge have a legacy of service to the community and great programming from Fox and The CW. There is room for growth and I see a lot of opportunity ahead, especially as we head into the fall election cycle. In addition, Nexstar’s scale and cross-platform advertising solutions give us a distinct advantage over our competitors in the market. I can’t wait to get started.”
