He’s forever linked to Z100 in New York, thanks to his role as its inaugural sales leader. Today, Gary Fisher is the President of New Jersey-based Equity Communications, and he’s now ready to pocket a little bit of cash thanks to the sale of a non-core asset licensed to Wildwood Crest.

For $70,000, Equity is selling WEZW-FM 93.1, born as WDOX as a Docket 80-90 sign-on more than 30 years ago, to Educational Media Foundation.

WEZW serves the southern tip of the Garden State, including such cities as Wildwood.

And, it has been the home of late of Classic Oldies “WMID,” serving as a simulcast partner to a pair of AM radio stations.

That’s about to change, as WEZW is poised to transfer to the parent company of the Worship Music Air1 noncommercial network and its bigger Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) sibling, KLOVE.

Serving as the legal counsel for Equity in this transaction is David Burns at Lerman Senter PLLC.
