LAS VEGAS — ENCO, the global provider of radio and TV software products, has been showing off the new features for its flagship broadcast products at the 2023 NAB Show — including its fifth-generation, AI-enhanced enCaption automated live captioning and transcription solution for TV and radio, including an updated enTranslate engine and WebDAD 3.0 remote radio automation interface.
“We continue to refine and improve our core broadcast solutions based on user feedback, and NAB represents the latest ENCO innovations to meet customer demand,” said Ken Frommert, President of ENCO. “We are thrilled to bring new levels of accuracy to our broadcast customers who want state-of-the-art live captioning and translation – improvements based on ENCO’s proven technology. We are also energized by how our next-generation WebDAD 3.0 remote radio interface provides greater control than ever for remote broadcasting and production.”
ENCO, which is also demonstrating its new RUSHWORKS product lines, is in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center in booth W1743.
enCaption5 Improvements for NAB
New for NAB, enCaption includes accuracy improvements of up to 20% and additional improvements to speaker detection for more seamless captioning of program material with multiple speakers. Improved data formatting for phone numbers, measurements, websites, and email addresses will drive better caption readability. ENCO has added user interface enhancements such as Calendar View for scheduling captioning events in addition to the current List View.
enCaption, enTranslate Converge
ENCO’s enTranslate solution, to be introduced as an enCaption module at NAB, amplifies the system’s value proposition through subtitles and secondary or tertiary closed captions to expand audience reach. ENCO has added support for 14 new languages including Ukrainian, bringing its current portfolio to 34 languages.
enTranslate includes unit conversion, such as metric to imperial measurements, with the conversions automatically performed based on source and target languages. Users can embed translated captions in short and long-form VOD content, including podcasts. For live radio applications, enCaption creates speech data and sends it to ENCO’s enTranslate engine for translation. Translated captions are distributed as text via its web socket, which users can reformat for adaptation to a web page or iFrame.
Sleeker WebDAD 3.0
The latest version of WebDAD now offers bidirectional control of playback machines, mini arrays, and full array panels. New improved progression tracking allows users to monitor playout of on-air content, plus the ability to trigger ClipFire video clips has been built in. ENCO has also added a robust new library editor and FastTRAK one-button voice tracking for simplifying remote talent tasks.
RUSHWORKS Family of Solutions
The RUSHWORKS family of products were acquired in January by ENCO. Offerings include the A-LIST broadcast automation solution, VDESK integrated PTZ/PTX production system, and PTX Model 3 PRO pan/tilt head.
