The nation’s No. 1 owner of radio stations has just agreed to a swap of FM translators with the No. 2 licensee of radio properties in the U.S.
Here’s the scoop on a deal, for no cash consideration, between iHeartMedia and the parent of Christian Contemporary Music networks KLOVE and Air1.
Educational Media Foundation is swapping the following properties to iHeartMedia:
- W272BY/CINCINNATI
- W291BV/SOLON, OH (CLEVELAND)
- W280DO/LEXINGTON, KY
- K273BH/FRIDLEY, MN (MINNEAPOLIS)
- W235BH/PERRYSBURG, OH (TOLEDO)
- K236BR/WACO, TX
Technically, iHeart’s “Citicasters Licenses Inc.” is getting the six translators.
In exchange, “AMFM Broadcasting Licenses” is handing EMF a translator in Calhoun Beach, MN: K244FE, serving Minneapolis-St. Paul.
Further, “Clear Channel Broadcasting Licenses” is getting the following translators from EMF:
- W295AZ/JACKSONVILLE BEACH, FL
- K228BR/TULSA
Lastly, “Capstar TX” is handing to EMF these translators:
- W248AW/INDIANAPOLIS
- W265CV/MADISON, WI
- W252CM/NASHVILLE
- W222BY/LAURELDALE, PA. (READING, PA)
David Oxenford and Paige Fronabarger of Wilkinson Barker Knauer, once again, served as the legal counsel representing EMF in a transaction.
