Dial Global adds more talkers on FMs

Dial Global announced its Stephanie Miller, Ed Schultz, Thom Hartmann, and Bill Press have all just signed with the new 105.7 WHJX FM Jacksonville, Florida. Speaking of FM, Dial Global’s Neal Boortz has taken over the 9P-Midnight  timeslot on WBT (AM & FM) Charlotte. Boortz can now be heard on some 50 FM stations; and America’s money coach Clark Howard is now heard on 40 FMs.

RBR-TVBR observation: With the somewhat surprising announcement this week of Alpha Broadcasting’s heritage Portland Rocker KUFO-FM being blown up as a simulcast to its KXL-AM, we have to see the trend solidifying: Music stations are losing listeners to Internet radio services like Pandora. Meanwhile, radio’s ongoing strength of news, spoken word and localism is just migrating to where it sounds better: the FM dial.
