The radio stations superserving African American listeners and those offering Top 40 programming have a new head of programming. “I’m looking forward to expanding my role on the programming team as SVP,” says Maurice DeVoe.

DeVoe is now SVP/Programming for the privately held Carl Parmer-helmed SummitMedia LLC, headquartered in Birmingham and formed with the acquisition of former Cox Radio properties.

DeVoe rises from Brand Content Leader, and this sees DeVoe taking on a new focus, as he will be overseeing and managing the programming strategy and operations for Summit’s Gospel, Hip-Hop, R&B and Adult R&B properties while taking a key role in innovations and trends, strategic planning and content.

DeVoe joined SummitMedia in late 2020 as Operations Manager for the company’s Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson stations and was previously with Cumulus Media in Kansas City. Before that he was with iHeartMedia in St. Louis.

“Maurice’s passion and experience have been crucial to Summit’s growth over the last four years,” said Randy Chase, SummitMedia’s Executive Vice President of Programming. “This promotion will allow Summit to leverage his expertise and knowledge and continue to grow our Rhythmic, R&B, and Gospel brands.”
