With Kalil & Co. serving as the exclusive broker in the transaction, Curtis Media Group is moving ahead with the acquisition of four FMs, one AM and two FM translators in the Wilmington-New Bern-Jacksonville, N.C. market.
The deal widens the stable of stations Curtis owns in North Carolina while the seller will now focus on their multimedia assets in the Triangle region.
The transaction, submitted late Wednesday for FCC regulatory approval, sees Capitol Broadcasting Corp. subsidiary Sunrise Broadcasting LLC earning $1.75 million from the sale of the following properties:

An $180,000 deposit has been made and is being held by Tucson-headquartered Kalil & Co., which represented Capitol in this transaction.
Wilmington is an unrated portion of Eastern North Carolina when it comes to radio and for TV is within DMA No. 126. As such, the Greenville-New Bern-Jacksonville station roster held by Curtis Media is a non-factor with respect to Wilmington, wedged between the Greenville, NC DMA and Myrtle Beach-Florence, S.C.
