The Media Bureau on Thursday (7/7) confirmed that the ATSC 3.0 Sunsets FNPRM was published in the Federal Register.
Here’s what this means to the broadcast television industry.
On June 22, the Commission released a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking seeking
comment on the state of the Next Generation Television transition and on the scheduled sunsets of two rules adopted in the FCC’s First Next Gen TV Report and Order.
The ATSC 3.0 Sunsets FNPRM set deadlines for filing comments and reply comments at 30 and 60 days respectively, after publication of the NPRM in the Federal Register.
Publication in the U.S. government’s journal of record came on Thursday (7/7).
As such, comments must be submitted no later than August 8; Reply Comments must be submitted no later than September 6.
