Comcast plans to start selling movies via set-top boxes and its Xfinity TV website by the end of this year, according to a Reuters story. The initial offering will include titles from several Hollywood studios, ranging from new releases and older movies to TV shows.
While the story didn’t note it, Netflix is reportedly discussing the inclusion of its streaming video service on set-top boxes with several MSOs–so the deal could be being worked with the movie rental giant.
