A Denver AM station is being traded almost straight up for a Fort Collings FM in a deal between non-profit entities. The only cash mentioned in the contract is tied to a previously existing promissory note.
The swap is KVOQ-AM Denver for KRKY-FM Fort Collins.
Cedar Cove Broadcasting Inc., headed by Victor A. Michael Jr., Lori I. Michael and Mitchell A. Beranek, is trading the AM.
Public Broadcasting of Colorado Inc., headed by President Max Wycisk, is trading the FM.
PBC will also pick up a $100K note that is currently the responsibly of CCB, payable to Mountain Community Translators by 9/30/15.
Cedar Cove acquired the FM as KGCO pursuant to a 2/13/13 application. It came from Educational Media Foundation for the nominal price of $10 cash.
KVOQ-AM is a Class C on 1340 kHz with 1 kW-U, ND. It does a great job of covering Denver.
KRKY-FM is a Class A on 88.3 MHz with 140 W @ 1,227’. It covers all of Fort Collins and points west.
