Cox Media Group’s Miami-Fort Lauderdale Radio Group, which uses offices and studios visible from Interstate 95 in Hollywood once home to Y-100,  includes such brands as “99 JAMZ,” which has named a new Asst. Program Director, and “HOT 105,” which also has a new Asst. PD.

These moves come as a South Florida radio programming veteran rises to Director of Operations, overseeing those brands in addition to market-leading “Easy 93.1” and Rhythmic Hot Adult Contemporary “Hits 97.3.”

It is Phil Michaels-Trueba who has been elevated to Director of Operations for CMG Miami. He reports to VP/GM Ralph Renzi, who comments, “For years, Phil has made innumerable contributions to our market’s success and has earned this position through his passion for excellence and clear performance. It’s an honor to witness his growth, and I’m excited to see him perform in this new role.”

Michaels-Trueba began his career with Cox Radio in 1991 and has been serving South Florida ever since. As a Miami native from the Little Havana neighborhood, he has always had a passion for radio, service, and community.

“I’m thrilled about this opportunity and continue to be inspired by the talented people I have the privilege of working with every day,” Michaels-Trueba said. “There’s already an unparalleled synergy among our Miami stations. I look forward to working with our teams to amplify this special connection and drive even more success across these four radio brands.”

Michaels-Trueba has also been Program Director of the former WPYO-FM in Orlando, a role he held from 2000-2002, when he returned to Miami as PD of the former WPYM-FM “Party 93.1.” Michaels-Trueba returned a third time to CMG in 2006 as Hot 105 PD.

CMG Miami is also elevating DJ Nasty, current on-air personality for WEDR, to the station’s Assistant Program Director. Additionally, Shelby Rushin, current-on air personality for WHQT will now serve as the station’s Assistant Program Director.
