One of cable television’s more popular draws over the last two decades has arguably been home improvement and DIY-focused shows seen on such networks as HGTV. Now, media mogul Byron Allen sees value in such fare on broadcast television, and has put a “firm go” on Allen Media Group’s creation and launch of its 70th and newest HD television series — one entirely focused on home repair and renewal.

Introducing FAST: HOME RESCUE, scheduled to be a one-hour weekly home renovation series highlighting families impacted by natural disasters as it follows disaster-relief organization Reach Out Worldwide (ROWW), founded by the late actor Paul Walker.

The announcement comes well ahead of the traditional mid-May Upfronts and will be made available as a one-hour syndicated series in fall 2023, for airing on broadcast TV stations.

Series stars are the brother and sister-in-law of Paul Walker, Cody and Felicia. Their goal: to restore homes devastated by natural disasters.

Byron Allen commented, “The new series FAST: HOME RESCUE is at the intersection of extreme weather events and home renovation. This transformative show reveals the destructive nature of tornadoes, fires and floods, while highlighting the powerful recovery stories of each family. Viewers will experience many emotions during the one-hour episodes, from heartbreak, to surprise, and heart-warming moments of triumph.”

With distribution exclusively by Allen Media Group Television, it sends another message to MVPD-only networks in a world of OTT, OTA and FAST channels that it can’t be the sole lair of visual content today.
