CC to award $1 million in free advertising

This, across the company’s radio, digital and outdoor platform to the top three winners of the 4A’s 2009 O’Toole Awards. The grand prize winner will receive $500,000 in free advertising, with the second and third place winners receiving $300,000 and $200,000, respectively.


“These prizes acknowledge creative agencies as critical partners, and we hope they will nourish creativity and demonstrate how effective radio and outdoor platforms are for great content,” said John Partilla, EVP/Clear Channel and president of Global Media Sales. “Agencies of this magnitude represent remarkable and unique examples of bold, strong work and capture the essence of digital innovation.”

Called the biggest award in advertising, the O’Tooles honor an agency’s overall level of creative excellence. 4As member and non-member agencies from around the world participated this year. Past winners have included BBH (Johnnie Walker), Crispin Porter + Bogusky (Burger King and Mini), Ogilvy & Mather (American Express) and Taxi (Versus).

Clear Channel’s platform reaches more than 150 million consumers each day, spanning radio, online and mobile streams and on-demand audio and video, in-vehicle navigation systems, digital video billboards, taxi media, transit shelters, and other outdoor displays.

The prizes will be presented on Monday, 9/21 at the Nokia Theatre Times Square during an event hosted by 4As board member Chuck Porter and Creativity Magazine editor Teressa Iezzi. Clear Channel Communications CEO Mark Mays will announce the free advertising winners.
