Friday WSMJ, formerly Smooth Jazz, became Baltimore’s exclusive Rock Alternative station with the launch of ‘Channel 104.3’ featuring Elliot in the Morning. It will compete with Hearst’s WIYY-FM (98 Rock) and a bit with CBS Radio’s WHFS in that market, which plays Alternative music at night, with Talk during the days.
“The Rock/Alternative format is unique to the area and features some music that has not been played here for quite some time,” said Jeff Kapugi, OM/Washington DC-Baltimore.
Elliot’s daily program is currently heard on Washington’s DC 101 and WRXL in Richmond, VA and will now be heard along the I-95 corridor from the Pennsylvania border to the VA/NC line.
