LOS ANGELES — In recent months, CBS Los Angeles has evolved its newscasts in significant ways. For one, the “KCAL News” brand has replaced any references to KCBS-2 across the Paramount Global duo of over-the-air TV stations it owns in Southern California. Second, technology has helped in paving a divergent path for a news organization that vigorously competes against NBCUniversal, Nexstar Media Group’s storied KTLA, KABC-7 and FOX Television Stations’ KTTV “FOX 11.”
Now, the tech advantage is tilting toward CBS L.A., they believe.
