Hawaiian Telcom Inks AMG Carriage Deal

The broadcast media company owned by Byron Allen that acquired a pair of TV stations in Hawaii — one from the Lilly family and another from Richard French — has secured a retransmission consent agreement with a local MVPD that includes continued carriage of seven cable TV channels.

California Broadcast Pioneer Harry Pappas Dies

He is being remembered as the former owner of what was at the time the nation's largest privately-held commercial television broadcast group, with 30 properties. Harry Pappas, who operated California-based Pappas Telecasting, died April 24 in Reno, Nev., at the age of 78.
