Aereo sets launch for Atlanta
Their broadcast TV streaming and DVR platform will launch in Atlanta on 6/17. Subscribers, like in NYC and Boston, will be able to access free OTA channels with a cloud-based DVR via supported mobile devices. Beginning 6/17, consumers who have pre-registered with Aereo will receive a special invitation to join and be one of the first to experience Aereo's technology. After 6/24, Aereo will make membership available to all eligible consumers across the Atlanta DMA, which includes more than 5.3 million consumers in 55 counties across Georgia, Alabama and North Carolina.
Plum TV shutting down?
The Plum TV broadcast network, which targets affluent viewers with programming locally produced largely in affluent vacation communities, is off the air in the Hamptons, Long Island (Cablevision 18), according to a local story from 27East. Cable channel 18 was dark and the on air staff was sent home and not allowed to tape or do shows as of last week.
