FOX Sports Announces New FS1 Sports Gambling Show

The network is taking its first dive into the sports gambling world. Called Lock It In, the daily show will feature host Rachel Bonnetta, “Cousin Sal” Iacono, Clay Travis, and Oddsmaker Todd Fuhrman. The show will premiere Monday, September 10, 4:30 to 5:30pm ET. The announcement was made by Mark Silverman, President, National Networks, FOX Sports.

ACA Comments On Raycom And Gray

On Monday, the American Cable Association filed comments regarding Gray Television’s proposed purchase of Raycom Media. Upon closing of the deal (and after divestitures), Gray would own 124 television stations, 62 of which are ranked first in all-day Nielsen ratings in their local markets, which would be the highest number of top-ranked television stations owned by any broadcaster.

CBS, Moonves Facing Class Action Suit

Following allegations that appeared in The New Yorker, CBS Corp. and its CEO Les Moonves are facing a class action lawsuit from shareholders. The complaint, filed Monday, states that the defendants made false and/or misleading statements, and/or failed to disclose four separate things of consequence.

GEICO Suffers A TV Spot Ten Slip

Top gun TV advertiser GEICO has been knocked off its perch for the week ending August 26. The auto insurer has dropped from the No. 1 position to No. 5 this week, airing 19,889 ads, according to Media Monitors.

Fox And Comcast Strike Deal On Big Ten Network

Reuters is reporting that the two companies have reached a deal that will see Comcast continue to carry the Big Ten college conference, including all games on Fox’s sports channel FS1. Financial terms of the renewal agreement weren’t disclosed under the deal announced Friday.

The company will not be going to court over the $40 million defamation lawsuit filed by Perri “Pebbles” Reid, the former manager of '90s all-girl trio TLC. Reid had alleged VH-1's CrazySexyCool presented her as "conniving and dishonest.”

Ultraviolet Sends Letter to CBS Over Les Moonves

Several allegations of sexual assault and misconduct have recently been made toward CBS Corporation Chairman and CEO Les Moonves. Even with the allegations, CBS has continued to allow Moonves to remain in his positions at the corporation. FCC Sets Comment Deadline On Competition in Audio

The Federal Communications Commission released a public notice on July 23 that it was seeking comments to learn more about the competition when it comes to deliver audio programming, and it will set deadlines for when comments can be filed. On Aug. 23 the FCC released another public notice with the deadlines for comment.

APTS Applauds Senate on Public Broadcasting Funding

When public television stations receive federal funds it ensures the stations are able to provide all types of programming to the community and everyone is able to gain access. The United States Senate provided funding to public broadcasting stations in the Fiscal Year 2019 Labor, Health and Human Services Education Appropriations Bill. On Aug. 23, Patrick Butler, president and CEO of America's Public Television Stations, praised the US Senate for their agreement on funding in a statement. Check out the story to see what he said.
