Carolyn Chambers dead at 79

Chambers Communications reports the death of founder and CEO Carolyn Chambers. She was 79.


Chambers started KEZI-TV Eugene, OR after receiving a CP from the FCC in 1959. She went on to expand in Oregon with KDRV-TV Medford, KDKF-TV Klamath Falls and KOHD-TV Bend. All are ABC affiliates.

The broadcaster and philanthropist was on numerous boards, both commercial and non-profit, at the local, state and national levels.

Chambers passed away on Monday (8/8) after a lengthy battle with cancer.

A celebration of life for Carolyn S. Chambers will be held Saturday, August 20, at 2:00 pm at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts in Eugene.
