Software-based media monitoring and analysis product manufacturer Qligent will introduce a new tiered approach to its Vision platform across the NAB Show New York conference. And, the company says, it is a move designed to make essential broadcast compliance monitoring software available free of charge while establishing a scalable path to advanced operational intelligence.
The new Vision Level 5, Level 6 and Level 7 offerings address the evolving technical and economic challenges facing broadcasters, from independent television stations to large broadcast networks and media enterprises.
Qligent will be present in the Javits Center at Booth 748 during NAB Show New York (October 21-22)
Qligent’s new strategy shifts Vision from a traditional software versioning model to a series of progressively intelligent monitoring levels, allowing broadcasters to adopt the capabilities that best align with their operational requirements. Vision Level 5 provides the foundational compliance monitoring capabilities required by individual broadcast stations at no software cost, while Levels 6 and 7 extend the platform into AI-powered analysis, automated reporting and comprehensive visibility across broadcast infrastructure and media delivery networks.
Qligent will continue to develop each Vision software level over time, including several updates to Vision Level 5 in time for NAB New York. The latest build introduces support for hardware ingest, ST-2110, and expands support for SDI and ASI transport.
“Broadcasters are operating in an environment where financial pressures continue to mount, technical complexity is increasing, and the importance of reliable broadcast services has never been greater,” said Qligent CEO Brick Eksten. “We believe that fundamental compliance monitoring should be accessible to every broadcaster, regardless of the size of their operation or the resources available to them. By making Vision Level 5 free and continuing to improve the software with new updates, we’re removing a barrier to essential monitoring while creating a foundation for broadcasters to adopt more intelligent, automated operations as needs evolve.”
Vision Level 5 establishes the foundation of Qligent’s new software architecture, providing five layers of signal monitoring for essential broadcast compliance requirements. Designed for individual stations and straightforward broadcast operations, the free software provides the baseline monitoring capabilities needed to assess signal integrity and maintain regulatory compliance. Broadcasters with multiple stations or more complex operations can extend Level 5 through a paid aggregation layer that consolidates monitoring information across multiple locations, simplifying oversight and management.
Vision Level 6 moves beyond traditional compliance monitoring to introduce AI-driven operational intelligence. The software adds automated root cause analysis, health assessments and summarized reporting to help broadcasters understand not only when something goes wrong, but why. By continuously evaluating operational performance and generating automated health reports, Level 6 transforms compliance monitoring from a largely reactive function into a more proactive approach to maintaining broadcast stability and service integrity.
Vision Level 7 extends that intelligence beyond the broadcast signal to encompass the systems and networks responsible for producing and delivering media. Designed for larger broadcasters, station groups and complex media enterprises, Level 7 provides end-to-end observability across the media supply chain, allowing operators to evaluate the health of their broader technical infrastructure alongside signal performance and compliance. This expanded perspective helps engineering teams identify potential points of failure throughout interconnected production and distribution environments.
The new levels build on Vision’s established software-defined, cloud-native microservices architecture, which supports flexible deployments across on-premises, cloud and hybrid infrastructures. Vision continues to provide comprehensive QoS, QoE and compliance monitoring for broadcast and multiplatform media delivery, including ATSC 1.0 and ATSC 3.0 services.
Qligent’s evolving Vision strategy also reflects a broader conviction that broadcast infrastructure will become increasingly valuable as next-generation transmission technologies extend the reach of broadcast services to new devices and applications. Eksten believes that broadcasting’s inherent ability to distribute information efficiently and reliably to large audiences will remain especially important as the industry explores new opportunities for IP-based services, mobile reception and emergency communications.

“The broadcast signal is an enormously valuable asset, and we believe its importance will grow as next-generation technologies expand the number and types of devices that can receive broadcast services,” said Eksten. “At the same time, broadcasters cannot afford to manage tomorrow’s infrastructure with yesterday’s operational methods. The opportunity is to apply the intelligence and automation developed for the world’s largest media networks to individual broadcast stations, giving operators of every size access to more sophisticated tools. Vision Level 5 establishes that foundation, Level 6 adds the intelligence to understand and optimize operations, and Level 7 extends that visibility across the entire delivery ecosystem. This is how we help broadcasters move from simply monitoring their signals to understanding and managing the health of their entire operation.”
