Bobby Poe dead at 77

Legendary recording artist, manager and radio tip sheet publisher Bobby Poe died Saturday (1/22) at age 77.

Best known for his tip sheets, Poe drew radio programmers from across the country to his annual conventions in the Washington, DC area. The last Bobby Poe Convention was #25, after which Poe retired in 1996.

Even then Poe stayed in the music business, operating a music theater in his native Oklahoma until 2005.

Poe was diagnosed with threat cancer in 2009 and suffered a fatal blood clot on Saturday.
