As you would expect, Disney CEO Bob Iger refused to confirm a Wall Street Journal report that his company is in talks with Univision on a possible all-news channel. Even so, he did talk a bit in Disney’s quarterly conference call about the value of leveraging the assets of ABC News.
The question was raised in Q&A by BofA/Merrill Lynch analyst Jessica Reif Cohen, who acknowledged that she didn’t expect Iger to confirm or deny the WSJ report. But she did manage to get some comment on what would make a deal of that sort attractive to Disney.

Later in the call Iger refused to answer another analyst’s question about finding tier placement for a new cable news network.
