Bloomberg Presidential Dollars Dominate TV Ad Spending

For the first time, RBR+TVBR on Tuesday detected Spanish-language digital audio pre-roll ads for the Mike Bloomberg presidential campaign, for Grupo ACIR radio stations based in Mexico City with geotargeted audio streams.

While this may be a sign that the former New York Mayor is ready to rev up his audio ad budget, perhaps including radio, there’s no question Bloomberg is using spot TV to reach potential voters.

The Bloomberg campaign’s TV spots are double that of GEICO.

For the week ending February 16, the Media Monitors Spot Ten TV report shows the Mike Bloomberg for President campaign dominating by play count, with 47,992 advertisements.

This put No. 2 GEICO, in a category battle with No. 3 Progressive, far back with 23,514 spins. Progressive accounts for 23,185 spins.

Meanwhile, the story at Spot Cable is all about GEICO.

As shown below, the auto insurance specialist has a commanding position at No. 1, although competitor Liberty Mutual Insurance is a very strong No. 2.
