The nation’s leading audio content creation and distribution company has appointed a new Senior VP of Programming in Arizona’s second-largest market, taking control of what comes out of the speakers for eight brands including a heritage Top 40 station that is the original home of the Johnjay and Rich program.

Taking the post for the iHeartMedia stations serving Tucson is Bill Stewart.

He reports to Tony Manero, Area Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia’s Southwest Area, and will work closely with Southwest Area President Steve Earnhart. “We’re excited to have Bill join our team in Tucson,” Earnhart said. “He brings a deep
understanding of how to build strong, relevant brands that connect with listeners and communities. His leadership and programming vision will continue to elevate our stations and deliver compelling content that reflects the energy, culture, and voice of Tucson.”

Stewart previously held similar duties for iHeartMedia’s Spokane station group and he’ll actually “with some of those responsibilities” there — namely as an on-air host at Classic Rocker KKZX-FM. He’ll also continue hosting the morning show for KYMG “Magic 98.9” in Anchorage, Alaska, as Stewart begins to focus on Top 40 KRQQ-FM, Country KHUD “The Bull,” Rhythmic Top 40 KOHT “HOT 98.3,” Latin Contemporary KMMA-FM “Mega 97.1,”  Talk KNST-AM, FOX Sports-aligned KTZR-AM, Tejano KXEW-AM and Spanish-language Adult Contemporary “Magic” (KHUD-FM HD2).

“iHeartMedia’s Tucson stations play a powerful role in people’s daily lives,” said Stewart. “These stations are trusted voices in Southern Arizona. My focus is to continue to deliver great music and engaging local content that reflects the spirit of this community and gives listeners something they can rely on every day.”
