NORTHVILLE, MICH. — The VP/Market Manager for Beasley Media Group‘s Detroit radio brands is shifting to the role of VP of Sales, effective today. That means a new leader for such brands as WRIF, WCSX, “105.1 The Bounce” and “105.9 KISS FM” is in place.

Taking the role is Matt Scarano, as Patti Taylor will now focus on “driving revenue growth and strengthening client partnerships” at the four Beasley/Detroit radio stations.

Scarano is officially in-bound from Chicago, where he was previously Region President for iHeartMedia’s group of radio stations in the nation’s third-largest market until November 2024.

Beasley cites his “more than two decades of experience leading large-scale radio and media operations, driving sustained revenue growth, and building high-performing teams in competitive markets. He is widely respected for his strategic leadership, operational discipline, and commitment to community engagement and corporate integrity.”

Before taking on the Chicago leadership role, Scarano held senior leadership roles with Clear Channel Media + Entertainment, prior to the company becoming iHeartMedia. He held the roles of Market President and, before that, Director of Sales in both Atlanta and Chicago for the company.

Before that, he spent 11 years in Atlanta, including eight years as General Sales Manager of WYAY-FM and WKHX-FM, hired when the stations were owned by ABC Radio. He began his career in fall 1992 as an account executive at Infinity-owned WZGC-FM in Atlanta.

“Matt is a proven, results-driven leader with a deep understanding of today’s evolving media landscape,” said Brian Beasley, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Beasley Media Group. “His operational expertise, sales leadership, and commitment to community make him an outstanding choice to lead our Detroit market, and we are excited to welcome him to the Beasley team.”

Scarano commented, “Beasley’s commitment to local communities, innovation, and strong partnerships aligns perfectly with my values. I look forward to working alongside this talented team to build on the market’s success and continue delivering meaningful results for our audiences, advertisers, and community partners.”

Matt Scarano holds a B.A. in Communications from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
