‘Baloncesto en Domingo’: Telemundo Readies NBA Telecasts

NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises is putting the finishing touches on its unique and free-to-air Spanish-language coverage of the National Basketball Association for the 2025-2026. It’s possible thanks to the return of NBA telecasts to sibling network NBC.

As such, the February 1 telecasts are the first in more than two decades for Telemundo Deportes, and they’ll also be seen on the Peacock streaming app as well as on all Telemundo affiliated stations in the U.S. and in Puerto Rico.

The Sunday, February 1, coverage begins with a prime-time doubleheader featuring the Los Angeles Lakers at the New York Knicks, followed by the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Denver Nuggets. Coverage starts at 6pm Eastern. A one-hour pregame show will appear on Telemundo.

However, Sunday Night Basketball will pause on February 8 and February 15, due to NBC Sports’ coverage of Super Bowl LX, the NBA All-Star Game, and the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, before resuming on February 22 and continuing through April 5.

Telemundo’s NBA coverage will be led by play-by-play announcer Álvaro Martín, alongside analysts Greivis Vásquez, a former NBA player and Venezuelan national team standout; and Diego Balado. Diego Arrioja will serve as courtside reporter, while Adriana Monsalve will anchor the pregame, halftime, and postgame coverage.
