There are now 14 CBS News & Stations broadcast television stations bringing immersive weather storytelling to viewers, and the latest addition to the list of Paramount-owned properties embracing AR/VR technology for the local news studio now includes CBS Boston.
The rollout of AR/VR weather coverage at WBZ-4 in Boston begins today during the 5pm Eastern newscast, with Chief Meteorologist Eric Fisher; meteorologist Jason Mikell will introduce the technology to WBZ Mornings viewers on Tuesday (9/1).
The approximately 1,470-square-foot studio (35 feet wide by 42 feet deep) allows CBS Boston the opportunity to expand the technology to its sports reports later this autumn.
