Another Quiet Day At The FCC: No Deals Filed

WASHINGTON, D.C. — It may be “The Longest Day,” as summer solstice brings the day with the most light to the northern hemisphere, but it could be the “shortest day” for TRANSACTIONS TODAY when it comes to reporting on the latest FCC filings for radio and TV stations.

There were no new Form 314 or Form 345 filings with the Commission … again.

That leaves two STA requests and a closing to share with readers.

We start our review of STA requests in Pocatello, Idaho.

Here, Sun Valley Media Group LLC has asked for a Silent STA for KPTO-AM 1440.

Why? It is moving from a facility with two towers serving Pocatello to a new facility with 1 tower and 270 watts daytime/107 watts nighttime from Hailey, Idaho.

The other STA sees Lewis Broadcasting file for an extension of its Silent STA for WJZI-AM 1540 in Decatur, Ind.

This station is seeking a new tower site.

We close today’s edition with news that FM translator K258BZ in Sugar Land, Tex., has formally been sold by KSBJ Educational Foundation to Centro Cristiano de Vida Eterna. The $400,000 transaction has closed.

The translator rebroadcasts programming originating from an HD multicast signal tied to iHeartRadio’s KTBZ-FM in Houston.
