Another carriage consent case resolved with dispatch

It’s yet another sign that retransmission consent is becoming last year’s controversy. A small television group with network affiliates in Columbus OH and Indianapolis IN has announced that it’s reached agreement with cable companies in each location for continued carriage going forward.

The broadcaster is Dispatch Broadcast Group, which operates radio and television properties in Columbus and television in Indianapolis.

The Columbus deal is with Time Warner Cable, and provides for carriage of CBS WBNS and the Ohio News Network. Dispatch also owns and operates WBNS AM-FM in the Ohio state capital.

In Indianapolis, Dispatch agreed with Bright House Cable for continued carriage of ABC WTHR and a low power outlet in what it called a related deal.

As per usual, terms of the agreement were not released.
