For radio broadcasting companies with kHz-band stations, its very consideration was a long-awaited reason to cheer.
The AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act of 2025, known in the current Congressional session as House Resolution 979, was finally brought to consideration — and, with heavy bipartisan support, the bill was sent to the full U.S. House of Representatives for a full floor vote.
That said, a 50-1 Roll Call vote came after the approval of an amendment that offers a “compromise” to automotive industry interests by shortening the Sunset period.
