LOS ANGELES — The Byron Allen-owned Allen Media Group (AMG) will not be engaging in any “great affiliation swaps” in five markets where it owns a broadcast television property.
AMG announced on Monday (1/22) that it has entered into a fresh multi-year deal that keeps the CBS affiliations in place at KIMT-3 in Mason City, Iowa and Rochester, Minn; KHSL-12 in Chico-Redding, Calif.; WTHI-10 in Terre Haute, Ind.; WLFI-18 in Lafayette, Ind.; and WEVV-44 in Evansville, Ind.
“We are delighted to continue our relationship with CBS network,” said Byron Allen, who is the founder and Chairman/CEO of Allen Media Group. “CBS has been an outstanding partner to our five affiliate stations by delivering phenomenal programming across all genres—including entertainment, news, and highly-coveted sports to our viewers. We look forward to extending our partnership with CBS.”
WEVV, once a Nexstar property, was acquired by DuJuan McCoy through his Bayou City Broadcasting in a deal agreed to in August 2014. McCoy spun WEVV to Allen Media Group in a May 2019 transaction that included two Lafayette, La., properties in a $165 million transaction.
KHSL, KIMT, WTHI and WLFI were purchased by AMG from Bob Prather-led USA Television Holdings LLC and USA Television MidAmerica Holdings LLC (collectively, USA TV) in a $290 million transaction announced in October 2019.
